Alfred John Markiewicz (May 17, 1928–January 9, 1997) was the second Roman Catholic bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Markiewicz was ordained to the priesthood on June 6, 1953 for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. Later he was incardinated into the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre. Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Rockville Centre Diocese and he was ordained bishop on September 17, 1986. On November 22, 1994, Bishop Markiewicz was appointed bishop of the Kalamazoo Diocese, where he died, while in office.[1]
